Meet Stephanie Fowler

Stephanie Fowler is a seasoned investment professional with nearly 25 years of experience across leveraged debt, project/energy finance, real estate and private equity. Stephanie is President, Capital Access at the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership (IFEL), where she spearheads the organization’s efforts to help founders, entrepreneurs and small business owners get funded faster. Stephanie collaborates with IFEL’s 700-member angel community, anchored by its recent acquisition of Pipeline Angels, and other capital providers (e.g., family offices, CDFIs, revenue-based lenders, credit unions, banks, etc) to identify the most effective funding solutions for its clients. 

 

Stephanie is an active investor in the startup and private equity ecosystem through several angel networks and as founder of MFW Property Group, LLC, a boutique investment firm specializing in multifamily properties in the US. Through IFEL’s awareness building initiative, the Making of Black Angels, the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of New York and Golden Seeds, Stephanie invests in late stage startups in the Renewable Energy, Fintech, and EdTech sectors. 

 

Prior to joining the startup ecosystem, Stephanie held numerous positions at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust & Bank, Japan’s largest trust bank. In her most recent role, Stephanie was Senior Director, Investment Strategy and Business Development, where she oversaw development of the leveraged loan investment strategy that informed the bank’s investment decisions in its multi-billion dollar leveraged loan, CLO and warehousing businesses. 

 

Stephanie holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, an AB in Economics from Harvard University, and is blessed to be a mother, daughter, sister and friend.
